Join a PFAR Committee!  

Get Involved & Make a Difference.  Joining a PFAR Committee has always been a great way to make new contacts, learn about the new trends in the industry, and have a hand in shaping the Association's direction. Each year, over 200 REALTORS and Affiliates become active participants in PFAR's Committees.

If you'd like to get more involved with PFAR or simply have some great ideas you'd like to see implemented, now is the time to do something about it. The Association has plenty of opportunities for volunteers.  Click on each committee for a description:

Review candidates and vote the awards of REALTOR®-Broker, REALTOR®-Salesperson and Affiliate of the Year and any special recognition awards deemed appropriate by the committee as recommended by the Board of Directors.

*Appointed by the President and ratified by the Board of Directors.

PFAR Charitable Foundation
Committee Chair:  Cheryl Shramm, Gateway Title Company
 

Design and conduct meaningful service programs that maximize REALTOR® visibility.  Raise funds on behalf of PFAR to distribute to the community at large. One of the most important goals is to make the community aware of the contributions made by the Association through its fund raising activities and large contributions for the benefit of many segments of the community.

resources in the communities we serve, including 
architectural landmarks, through the distribution 
of brochures and other informational materials.

Education/Membership
Committee Chair:  Addora Beall, Craig Estates & Fine Properties
 

Sponsor educational programs to increase the professional competency of all members. Work with C.A.R. and the D.R.E., institutions of higher learning and independent speakers to provide a full range of real estate courses and study materials. Grievance (Special Training Required)
Committee Chair:  West De Young, Dilbeck REALTORS
 

Review and investigate complaints by members and the public to determine whether a complaint warrants a formal hearing. Investigate charges of unethical conduct and present findings to the Professional Standards Committee for adjudication and possible disciplinary action. Review arbitration requests to determine qualifications for hearings. Requires special training and one year PFAR membership.  Back to Top

 

 

 

Housing Opportunities
Committee Chair:  David Gomez, Stewart Title
 

To find and promote programs that will enable low-and moderate income buyers to purchase homes in our community. To inform the membership of affordable housing opportunities for buyers.  To develop and participate in affordable housing programs with the public and private sector.   Back to Top

 

 

 

Local Government Relations
Committee Chair:  Aida Dimejian
 

Monitor local government actions, proposed legislation, governmental regulations and public policy pertaining to the real estate industry; recommend action to the Board of Directors to propose, oppose or support legislation and candidates; provide public testimony before the city council and/or commissions. Promote political fund-raising for the “Political Survival” and the 99 Club. Support and conduct political education and awareness programs. Work with the Association’s Legislative Advocate. Orientation
Committee Chair:  Rita Sahlein, Sotheby's International Realty
 

Provide a course of instruction to applicants for REALTOR® membership covering Association services, the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Association, the Constitution and Bylaws of the State Association and Constitution, Bylaws and Code of Ethics of N.A.R. Provide MLS Participants who are not association members with a course covering MLS Rules, standard forms and services.  Back to Top

 

 

 

Professional Standards (Special Training Required)

Hear complaints referred by the Grievance Committee involving arbitration of commissions and alleged ethical misconduct by association members. Make monetary arbitration awards. Requires special training and one year PFAR membership.
